Sermon – We are Humbled In Order to Serve – 28 May 2017

The Chapel of St Catherine of Sienna which is at the entrance of St Malo’s Retreat Center has always fascinated me and holds a special place in my heart. It was at this Chapel and Retreat Center that a dear friend and fellow Chaplain went for solitude and prayer following his combat tours in Afghanistan & Iraq. Chad is the epitome of humble and selfless service. When he received the phone call telling him that the Pope wanted him to be the new Bishop of Fairbanks, he thought it was a practical joke! He had never had aspirations for such a position which made him perfectly suited for the job according to the Pope.
