Evening Prayer – 25 May 2017
The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow
A full day of wandering and reflecting
A day spent in the midst of your wondrous creation, Lord
A day spent with the Desert Abbas and Ammas
Reflecting on their struggles to serve you
Reflecting on the wisdom they share with us
It isn’t about ourselves
It isn’t about self-glorification
It is about humble, selfless service
Lord, teach us to look beyond ourselves
Lord, show us the way to servant leadership
Lord, teach us to see you in the eyes of others
Lord, draw us together as one
In your mercy, Lord, hear this prayer
Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra
Grant Us Peace on Earth
