Evening Prayer – 18 April 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

As the sun shines and the flowers bloom

Lord, so too does your hope for each day

Yet part of me wonders

Thomas, what kept you away from the others

Was it fear? Concern? Searching for hope?

As I wandered today I saw the invisible ones

The homeless, disabled, lost, the lonely

Were you searching as they were?

For a smile, a kind word, acknowledgement of your presence?

So often we doubt, Lord

So often we search, Lord

Come to us in these times especially

Come with your love, hope, presence

Come, Lord Jesus, with your peace

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra 

Grant Us Peace on Earth
