Christmas Eve Worship

December 24, 2021

Tonight’s worship was incredibly meaning-filled for all who attended. It was a Lessons and Carols service with a short homily before we lit our candles and sang Silent Night. One of the focal points of the message was from the Centering Moment in the bulletin.

Denise gave me the wooden candleholder in front of our fireplace when we were in Colorado. The little disks under each candle is a word from a poem Howard Thurman wrote about the light Christmas.

I will light candles this Christmas, Candles of joy, despite all sadness, Candles of hope where despair keeps watch. Candles of courage where fear is ever present, Candles of peace for tempest-tossed days, Candles of grace to ease heavy burdens. Candles of love to inspire all my living, Candles that will burn all the year long.

May the blessings of this holy night be yours each day and night of the year ♥️✨🕯
