Evening Prayer – 2 September 2021

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow
It has been a long day, Lord
Physically and emotionally exhausting
I am so thankful for my precious Denise and her partnership in life, love, and ministry
I honestly don’t know how I would make through these difficult times without her
As we prepare for sleep
As we prepare for a long day’s drive tomorrow
As we continue to walk through the Valley of the Shadows with family
We lean on you, dear Lord
Guide us
Encourage us
Give us strength
Now as my eyelids grow heavy
I lift this humble prayer to you
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…
– [ ] Michael, thank for this post. Your prayer in it was particularly meaningful for me. I’m in a surgical ward following a bad fall last Sunday. My wife saw a RC priest in the hallway this afternoon and asked him to pop into my room. We chatted and in response to my request he said a prayer and ended with a well known blessing.
– [ ] I’d like repeat the laymen’s version which I used when I took a reserved sacrament (Anglican) service for four years at an intermediate care hospital:
– [ ] May the blessing of God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit be with you, Denise and those you love, today and always.
Thank you so very much, Bruce ❤️❤️ Blessings be upon you and your dear wife as you heal!!
