Evening Prayer. – 10 August 2021

August 11, 2021

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

I am thankful for parishioners who reach out

I am thankful for opportunities to Be Still

I am thankful for an evening spent with Howard Thurman and Thomas Merton

From a sermon of Howard Thurman: I will not let you keep me from loving you. I will not give you that power.

And from Thomas Merton’s Day of a Stranger: What I wear is pants, what I do is live, how I pray is breathe.

Help me to love and to breathe dear Lord

Now as my eyelids grow heavy

I lift this humble prayer to you

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace

A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…
