The quotation from St Augustine has sent me scurrying on an unsuccessful attempt to track down the source of the quote from his writings. Do you by any chance have readily at hand the source of this quote?
I scurried as well and all I discovered that it is attributed to him. The source is disputed according to several articles I found.
Thank you for the results of your digging. I’m going to translate it back into Latin and then try an internet search using some of the Latin terms. (My first degrees were in Latin and Greek.)
Hopefully that may yield some results!
