Evening Prayer – 24 October 2020

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow
It has been a long day, Lord
While we have been glued to newsfeeds
Our Rocky Mountain family has been living this in real time
Our firefighters working 16+ hour days
Especially a dear friend who was just certified as a volunteer firefighter
They are working around the clock
Protecting and defending our beloved National Park
The homes of our family, friends, and community
For our beloved community who has evacuated that they may feel your arms of love and peace wrapped around them
We lift heartfelt prayers for snow
We pray for energy for those who continue to fight the fires
We pray for our wildlife family
Lord, when prayers are too deep for words
When all we can do is weep
You know our hearts and hear our prayers
Thank you
Now as my eyelids grow heavy
I lift this humble prayer to you
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…
