Evening Prayer – 15 March 2019

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

My heart breaks tonight

Yet another senseless slaughter

Hatred and venom spewed from ignorance

Words became bullets and killed so many

When will it end, Lord, when will it end

In the words of the poet Robert Burns

Man’s inhumanity to man

Makes countless thousands mourn!

Shine your light in this darkness, Lord

May we stand together as one

Regardless of nationality

Regardless of the color of our skin

Regardless of our faith tradition

Regardless of our sexuality

May we stand together as one

May we stand as your children

United in one love

United in this prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra

Grant Us Peace on Earth

May we be that Peace!
