Is Life Good?

A favorite dessert, a song on the radio, a morning that begins in quiet perfection. Rejoice that time is sprinkled with such simple surprise, the wild flowers of our faith.”

Harold asks for gloves. I hand him a pair of black sturdy gloves.

“Thanks,” he says. “It has been cold at night.”

Later, a young man comes by the park table and asks for gloves.

“I’m sorry,” I say. “I just gave out the last pair.”

“Man, I am always too late. Luck is just against me.” Martin turns to walk away.

Harold hands him the gloves I just gave…
