Evening Prayer – 9 September 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

What a whirlwind of a weekend

Thank you, Lord, for precious friends

Thank you, Lord, for family visits 

Thank you, Lord, for music and inspiration 

Thank you, Lord, for safe travel 

Tonight I lift up my prayers for those suffering

Those suffering in the wake of Hurricanes 

Those suffering due to health concerns

Those who live in fear for their wellbeing and lives

Those who wait and wonder as storms bear down on them

Lord, wouldn’t it be good for your children to live

To live together in harmony

To live together in mutual love and respect

To beat swords into plowshares

To beat spears into pruning hooks

To no longer study war anymore 

Help us to move towards that day, we pray

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra 

Grant Us Peace on Earth
