Evening Prayer – 5 June 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

As I continue to ponder the chaos

The abject hatred, bigotry, and fear

I wonder to myself and sometimes aloud

Lord, where are you in the chaos

Another dear friend walks through the valley of the shadows 

Where are you, Lord, in the midst of the pain

Just as you did for the Desert Ammas and Abbas

You spoke quietly in the midst of it all

Speak, Lord, your words of wisdom and peace

Speak, Lord, for your servants are listening 

In the midst of it all, hear our prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
