Maundy Thursday – A New Commandment

On this night we remember

We remember a true Savior who was a servant

He washed the disciples feet

He had all the power God can give

Yet he didn’t Lord it over them

He even loved and served the one who would betray him

All of the disciples betrayed him that night

Yet he continued to love and to forgive

In a time where bombs and bullets are the world’s answer

In a time where bullies have big weapons

We pray to you, O Prince of Peace

In a time where death and destruction are commonplace

We seek to follow you, O Prince of Peace

In a time of darkness and hatred

Help us to shine the light of your love to all

Teach us, dear Lord, to be instruments of your peace 

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra

Grant Us Peace on Earth
