Evening Prayer – 7 March 2017

March 7, 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

Many times I have found myself in the wilderness, Lord.

Many times it has been a wilderness of my own making.
Each time as I wander, Lord, I also wonder.
How did I get here? Why me?
Then I remember the Wilderness Jesus endured.
A wilderness not of his own making.
A wilderness where he faced down Satan.
A wilderness where he was tempted.
A wilderness where he stayed strong.
Out of that wilderness he was called to serve.
Out of my own wilderness experiences, Lord, you called.
Out of the wilderness you brought me to serve.
Yes, Lord, despite my “best” efforts, you redeemed and called.
Even in the wilderness there is hope for redemption.
Even in the wilderness there is hope for renewal.
Even in the wilderness, we are never alone.
Thank you, Lord, for bringing us through the wilderness.
Thank you, Lord, for renewing your call to us.
Dona Nobis Pacem.
Grant Us Peace.

A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…
