Evening Prayer – 29 February 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

Tonight we had fellowship with our church family

Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday… Lent begins tomorrow

Today, part of our hearts were back home in Mobile

Our youngest son was born 22 years ago on Mardi Gras

Pondering the history of this day

Shrove Tuesday, Shrove, to be Shriven

To confess one’s sins and receive absolution

What does it all mean, Lord

Help us to slow down

Help us to go deeper

Help us to be still and know

More than that, make us instruments of your peace 

Lord, may the light of your love shine through us

Lord, may we be a part of the answer to thosbprauer

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra 

Grant Us Peace on Earth
