Evening Prayer – 26 December 2016

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

A very long day of traveling is complete

Time with family for a late Christmas 

As we gather and as we share

We also remember friends who are family

Praying for health and wholeness and healing

On this feast day of St Stephen

Remembering the first martyr

I think of those in other lands

Who truly suffer and are persecuted for their faith

Yet they stand humbly as Christ Lights

May their light encourage and inspire

As we lift our prayers

As we let the light of Christ shine through our brokenness 

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
