Evening Prayer – 17 December 2016

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

A day of cold temperatures transformed

A time of physical labor in the midst of God’s creation 

A time to reflect and appreciate our many blessings 

As the Advent season draws to a close

As the candle of Love is lit

As we prepare our hearts for our Lord

May we see you, Lord Jesus

In the face of the refugee

In the face of the homeless

In the face of our LGBTQ sisters and brothers

Lord, help me to see you 

Even in the face of those who persecute

Even in the face of those who physically or spiritually kill in your name

Lord, in this holy time, remind us of your love 

Lord, melt our cold, cold hearts

Let your love shine in the darkness

Lord, show this world that #LoveWins

In your mercy, Lord, answer this prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra 

Grant Us Peace on Earth
