Evening Prayer – 15 November 2016

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

Walking tonight we pondered the shorter days

We also wondered where time has flown to

This fellow helped us to slow down a bit

This fellow and the doe with him seemed to say

Yes, time moves on, don’t forget to enjoy the moment

Don’t forget to find God in the stillness

Don’t forget to seek God in the quiet

Don’t forget to be still and know

With so much going on in the world

With the holidays and their stress quickly approaching

We need to slow down and soak in Your presence, Lord

As we do, may we be mindful of all those who cannot

Remembering in prayer

Those who don’t know where their next meal is coming from

Those who don’t know where they will sleep tonight

Those who live in fear of violence and war

Those who believe they are abandoned and alone

Lord, show us the way to be

Your hope

Your light

Your love

May we be your ambassadors of the peace only you can offer

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
