Evening Prayer – 8 July 2016

July 8, 2016

The sun has long ago set

The Vesper Lights flicker and glow

A busy day of ministry and pondering

Events of the past few weeks and months overwhelm

The brutality and hate threaten to overwhelm

Lives are taken without regard

For the FACT that God created each one GOOD

Labels? God has NO labels, only my beloved

Thankfully, God spoke words of comfort

Look at my creation… It is still good

Look at the Sunset painting the sky

It promises a night of peace

It also promises a new tomorrow of hope

Thank you, Lord, for this reminder

Thank you, Lord, for Rocky

Thank you for the promise of Amos

The promise Dr King reminded us of

Let justice roll down like waters

And righteousness like an everflowing stream

Lord, hear the prayers of your people

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace

A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre after a full, yet emotionally draining day… Thankful for the Rocky Mountain National Park and friends who I am honored to walk with through this thing called life…
