Evening Prayer – 24 May 2016

May 24, 2016

The sun has set and night has fallen

The Vesper Lights flicker and glow

As I lift my Evening Prayer

Thankful for momentary glimpses

Glimpses of the majesty of your creation

As we peacefully coexist with our neighbors

I am reminded of Isaiah’s peaceful vision

The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze, their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play over the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put its hand on the adder’s den. They will not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. (Isaiah 11:6-9)

Lord, this is my constant prayer

For all of your creation

That we might live in peace with your grace and mercy at the center

Lord, hear my earnest prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace

A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre after a day filled with ministry and enjoying the wonder of God’s creation…
