Evening Prayer – 4 April 2016
Safely landed in New Orleans and now with our dear friends in Mobile. A long day of flying and waiting and driving complete. No Elk here but there are plenty of good friends and family!
Today we remember the anniversary of the assassination of The Rev Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. Today, we lift a prayer for peace in his memory…
As the Vesper Lights flicker, I lift this simple prayer
For your children, for ALL of your children
May we turn swords into plowshares
May we turn spears into pruning hooks
May we turn automatic weapons into lawn ornaments and art
May we no longer study war any more
Lord, hear this, my heartfelt prayer
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
A wee prayer from the heart of your thankful, hopeful, and sleepy Padre…
