From ashes to ashes and dust to dust

The Vesper Lights are lit

The sun has long ago set

On this Ash Wednesday we begin

A journey towards the cross

A journey inward

A journey of discovery

A journey of reflection

As I ponder the ashes upon my forehead

They remind me of my mortality

They also remind me that I am God’s creation

That we are indeed God’s beloved

As we journey through this Lenten season

Lord, remind us once again of your love

Call us once more to the pathway of Justice

To the pathway of love

To the pathway of kindness

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
