Evening Prayer – 30 July 2015

  
At the end of a very long day… We signed the contract on the Townhouse in Estes Park before heading to the airport. The flight from Denver to Houston was “interesting” thanks to weather and turbulence.
This morning we watched large birds flying on the thermals and then we fought the winds in the plane. From that experience comes this prayer:
Lord, as the birds trust you in flight

Soaring and enjoying the thermals

It seems they allow you to lift them up
Yet as human beings our flight is not effortless

Jets roar as planes lift and fight the wind
Humanity seems to force the flight

Trusting in our own efforts

Rather than allowing you to lift us and carry us
Lord, help us to be more like the birds

Help us to trust in you to lift us up

Help us to trust in your strength

Lift us, we pray, in every facet of our lives
Dona Nobis Pacem
