The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow
What a long day of travel, Lord
Yet you kept watch over us as we drove
You sent Sister Moon to bookend our day with love
You sent an incredible meteor display just before sunset
Your Spirit was truly surrounding us
So many were also surrounding us with love and prayers
For all these gifts we are truly thankful
Now as my eyelids grow heavy
I lift this humble prayer to you

I am so thankful for the 21st of September
For it is the birthday of my beloved
This year has been difficult
We have experienced too much family death and struggles in a short period of time
We have driven far too many miles between Georgia, Minnesota, and Alabama
Yet I couldn’t have asked for a better travel and life companion
For Denise, my partner in life, love, and ministry, I thank you, Lord
Now as my eyelids grow heavy
I lift this humble prayer to you
