Sojourners Verse and Voice – 3 November 2025
Verse of the day
If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that?
– James 2:15-16
Voice of the day
When people were hungry, Jesus didn’t say, “Now is that political or social?” He said, “I feed you.” Because the good news to a hungry person is bread.
– Desmond Tutu
Prayer of the day
God, in the face of forcibly withheld needs, nurture any outrage we may have into determination to mutually aid one another as witnesses of good news.
For a few years now – Stanley and I have benefited from the Thursday night Church dinners.
Last week I went to Target- before I picked the dinners up – and bought some staple items for the Church – since the number of dinners they serve will undoubtedly increase.
We will also be donating more to our local food bank – as we can.
Thank you. Annie and Stanley 💖💖
This week is a big benefit for our churches food pantry (Denise has been a member for decades). It is the largest one in Mobile. We will continue to support it and serve as well.
We gotta do what we gotta do – when we can do it.
Tuesday aftermoon I went to the Grocery Outlet and bought more staple foods – this time for the Lake Stevens Food Bank. I had already taken them 2 quarts of goat milk that I could not use because I am having kidney stone surgery next Monday and I am barred from all dairy products for at least a week. I did not want those two good quarts of milk to go to waste.
We shall all get through this together.
Praying that all goes well with your surgery on Monday 💖🙏
Thank you . Me also.
Wednesday we drove to Seattle in the pouring rain to find where at the hospital we are supposed to go on Monday. That was a 6 hour trip.
Uff Dah!!
