Evening Prayer – 2 November 2020

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

For All Souls’ Day we remembered

Those who have gone before us

We remember so many we know by name

We lift up to you the ones known only to you

On the evening before the election we pray

Pray for your healing balm

Pray for an outpouring of your Spirit

For your Spirit to guide us through the Valley of the Shadows

I thank you as well for dear friends who create

Who create life-giving art and music

Let those gifts soothe our weary souls

Now as my eyelids grow heavy

I lift this humble prayer to you

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace
