Evening Prayer – 11 October 2019

October 12, 2019

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

What a day, Lord

Walking around Louisville

Seeing sights and enjoying time with friends who are family

Discovering the Thomas Merton Center

Then a long evening of flight delays

A late night drive up the mountain

Winding down after the long day

Now as my eyelids grow heavy

I lift this humble prayer to you

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace

A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…

    Glad you are home safely!
I wish I’d known that was in Louisville; I would have liked to stop by while I was there.

Thanks! We are too… especially after flight delays and a late drive up the mountain. It was so cool to be at the Abbey, the Center, and the Corner of Fourth and Walnut (Now named after Muhammad Ali) ❤️❤️

It seems as though it was a (mostly, minus the delays) relaxing and nourishing trip for you. Would love to hear about some of the insights you’ve gained, once you’ve had time to digest them, if you’re willing to share.

It will take some time to digest for sure. It was nourishing for both of us. Exhausted after long days and short nights though. Poor Denise is coming down with a bad cold 😢

Aww, that’s awful to hear! I hope she feels better quickly. Traveling can certainly take a toll on the body. Rest up, drink loads of water, and enjoy being home again!
