Evening Prayer – 2 August 2019

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

I am in a reflective mood tonight, Lord

So much going through my heart and soul

You speak to me in the breeze

You speak to me in the silence

You speak to me in amazing music

You speak to me in the depths of my being

As I remember a dear friend and brother

As I hold his family in my heart

Sharing words that are so dear to them

Sharing words that were so dear to him from TS Eliot

With the drawing of this Love and the voice of this Calling

We shall not cease from exploration

And the end of all our exploring 

Will be to arrive where we started 

And know the place for the first time. 

Through the unknown, unremembered gate 

When the last of earth left to discover 

Is that which was the beginning… T S Eliot

You call us to love

You call us to serve

You call us to serve selflessly

You call us to Be

To Be your Children

To Be Still and Know

Lord, as I remember my brother

Lord, as I remember his family

I ask your grace-filled presence

May we lean on each other

May we lean on you

Lord, as my eyelids grow heavy

I lift this humble prayer to you

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace
