Spring Comes As It Does Each Year

On a Sunday afternoon ramble
Along the pathway in Rocky
Birds are singing, the sun is shining
Snow lingers as the melt begins
All that has slumbered during Winter’s darkness awaits
I can see the beginnings of new life
As the days get longer
As the sun shines longer
I am reminded of resurrection
Out of the darkness comes light
Comes a light which cannot be overcome
The Mountain Bluebirds sing and frolic

This is Colorado in Springtime
While we know more snow will likely come
Spring is beckoning to us
Light and Life and Newness
Winter will lose its grip
Until the seasons turn once more
In the rhythmic circle and cycle of life
But for now, we enjoy the singing of the birds
We enjoy the Creeks and Rivers sweeping away Winter’s ice
Spring comes as it does each year
With its reminder of new life and light
