An Advent Devotion for December 2

Read James 5:7-8

“Be patient, therefore, beloved, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious crop from the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains. You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.” James 5:7-8

Waiting –

Waiting for answers.

Waiting for a baby to be born.

Waiting for a job to come through.

Waiting for . . . Well waiting for whatever it is that we’ve been waiting for.

Waiting is hard.

We grow impatient in our waiting, and yet the too soon birth of a child creates all manner of complications. Much better the timely birth. For in those waiting months growth takes place, organs mature and lungs strengthen.

The waiting time becomes a time of preparation in our personal lives both…
