Evening Prayer – 23 November 2018

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow
Today was Black Friday
So many worshipping at the altar of Consumerism
Others chose to spend it outdoors in the real world
We chose to spend the day resting
With a hectic life and schedule
Life can often overwhelm
Spiritually and Physically worn out
Such gifts as we had today are a blessing

As we rest and seek renewal
I pray for those who have no opportunities for rest
For those fighting fires
For those working the midnight shift in hospitals
For those patrolling the highways and byways
For those who seek refuge from violence and oppression
For those who are not welcomed
For the dispossessed and forgotten
For those who struggle in the Valley of the Shadows
For all of your children, I lift this humble prayer
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…
