Remembering Mom…

After taking some pictures of the rising Moon tonight over Prospect Mountain, I came across some pictures on my Canon from our vacation to Florida. Denise and I decided to drive out and explore Sanibel Island.

It was one of Mom’s favorite places to visit in Florida. She had a number of shells and a favorite sweatshirt from one of their trips.
Funny that I came across them tonight… a year ago today I was in the air, flying back to Minnesota from Colorado. I had come back to preach and take care of some ministry needs in Estes Park. I got to Austin just before midnight and kissed Mom and told her that I loved her. Denise was sitting with her and I went to get some sleep. At 3:15 am, Denise called and said I needed to get to the apartment. She died in the time between the call and my arrival at the apartment.
Part of me can’t believe it has been a year already… tomorrow will be Thanksgiving and I plan on watching some of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade… one of Mom’s favorite Thanksgiving traditions.
Denise and I love and miss you, Mom…

Mike I want you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. In a note to your Dad I
Said I wonder how many lunches we had. A lot of good conversation on many subjects
and shopping trips also enjoyable. Shirley was a dear friend.
She was indeed… thanks so much, Nancy ❤️❤️ Much love to you and Scott!
