Evening Prayer – 17 November 2018

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

We finally made it home through the snow

A long day of flying and driving

Yet as well a time of blessing with my Dad

Now as I prepare for Sunday worship

As I contemplate the state of the world

As I consider wars and rumors of wars

I consider as well the call to be different

Swords into Plowshares

Spears into Pruning Hooks

Nation not lifting up sword against nation

Nations no longer learning war anymore

As we approach the season of Advent

We look forward and we look back

We look to the coming of the Prince of Peace

We look to a time when priorities are different

As I contemplate

As I pray

Lord, in your mercy, hear this humble prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra

Grant Us Peace on Earth
