tonight hearts are
broken; their joy
devoured by
darkness…for
them morning
never comes

i have wasted
thousands of hours
overthinking life
when the only thing
that matters
is this moment

the earth murmurs
beneath our feet
the wind sings
through tree boughs
life’s sweet for those
who are listening
