Evening Prayer – 27 October 2018

The Sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

I have not had to prepare for worship today

It has been a time of reflection and rest

My dear partner in life and ministry preaches tomorrow

Thankful for my breather and thankful for her willingness to serve

As we reflect and prepare for tomorrow

As we mourn the tragic loss of life at The Tree of Life Synagogue

As we cry out against the hatred that runs rampant in this country

As we deplore the lack of outcry and rage from this nations so-called leaders

As we cry out to you, O Lord

We cry out for all of your children

The children of Abraham

The People of the Book

The children of Ishmael

As we cry out against violence against all of your children

Turn our tears into action

Turn our action into love

Transform this world, Lord

Make us instruments of that transformation

Make us instruments of your Peace

In your mercy, hear the cry of my heart

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra

Grant Us Peace on Earth
