Oscar Romero

Archbishop Óscar Romero will be canonized tomorrow in Rome. His politics and activism on behalf of the poor causes him to be a lightning rod in the church in San Salvador and around the world. He was beloved by the poor and the voiceless… I remember studying Liberation Theology in Seminary and being moved by the work that was being done by the church in Central America. Archbishop Romero is a model for the Church (all Denominations) as she must recover her prophetic voice!
