Evening Prayer – 25 August 2018

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

For my sweetheart it has been a long day of sorting

Memories arise as she and her Dad worked at the house she grew up in

For me it has been a day of walking and reflection

A year ago yesterday two deaths in the parish

This began a difficult journey for our family, church, and community

Over the past year there has been so much loss

So much time spent in the Valley of the Shadows

It was three years ago that we were on the road

Traveling from Florida to Colorado

As I look back I see your fingerprints, Lord

As I look back I see your Spirit’s presence

Continue to walk with us as we serve

Continue to be with those who mourn

In your mercy, hear this humble prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace
