Evening Prayer – 24 August 2018

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

It has been a long day, Lord

Car repairs and waiting

Long lines in the Canyon

For my sweetheart, long day of processing

Memories flood in for both of us

Even though we are in Alabama and Colorado

The memories are similar

A year ago today two deaths in the parish

We continue to mourn so many losses

We continue to mourn the losses of our Mothers

We continue to walk with our Fathers

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted

This word from our Lord continues to comfort

At the end of this long day, I lift this humble prayer

A prayer for all who continue to mourn

Grant Us Peace
