Evening Prayer – 9 July 2018

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

A day of work with dear friends

A day of funeral service planning

A time of reflection and contemplation

As we prepare for sleep

As we consider those who fear the night

As we consider those for whom darkness brings nightmares

As we consider those who feel hopeless and alone

Comfort and protect them, Lord

For all of your children I lift this Compline prayer

Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night

Give your angels charge over those who sleep.

Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying

Soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous

And all for your love’s sake

Lord in your mercy, hear my humble prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace
