Evening Prayer – 27 June 2018

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

We spent a wonderful day with our son and his girlfriend

Time spent enjoying good food and fun

Time spent enjoying the beauty of your creation

Such a blessed reminder of your presence, Lord

Even as so much goes wrong in this country

Even as so much hatred and greed corrupts

There is still evidence of your presence

And so, on this night we lift this prayer to you

Circle us, Lord

Keep love near, and hatred afar

Circle us, Lord

Keep peace within, and evil out

Circle us, Lord

Keep civility within, and ugliness out

Lord, may your perfect love cast out fear

Lord, may your Spirit break down walls of division

Lord, in your mercy, hear this humble prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace
