Reflections – Our Moms

When you want to pick up the phone just to call
But then you realize you can’t
Mother’s Day was sort of surreal for both of us
Within four months, both of our Mom’s died
In the midst of so many deaths in our community
Additionally, the loss of dear friends
Mother’s Day was difficult for us
Now, my sweet partner in faith and life makes a journey
Her first trip back home since her Mom’s death
My body will be in Colorado
My heart and my spirit will be with her
Jeanne and Shirley, you are loved and missed
You touched both of our lives in so many ways
You have both helped to make us who we are today
As we miss our Mothers, we worry about our Fathers
Lord, walk with each of us we pray
As we wander through the Valley of the Shadows
Guide us with the light of your loving presence
As you promise
Blessed are those who mourn
For they shall be comforted
Lord, in your mercy, hear this prayer
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
