Evening Prayer – 9 March 2018

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

A long and emotionally draining day

One last visit to Mom’s grave

One last hug and sharing of tears with Dad

On the way to Alabama and more devastating news

Another dear friend dies suddenly

Three in one week and we mourn

We walk through the Valley of the Shadows

And now, with my dear Mother-in-Law

With family we watch and wait and pray

Yea though I walk through the Valley of the Shadows

I will fear no evil

Your rod and your staff they comfort me

You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies

You anoint my head with oil

My cup overflows

Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever

This is her hope

This is her promise

For my beloved friends and family who mourn

May they know your comfort and your presence

Lord, in your mercy, hear this prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace
