Evening Prayer – 5 March 2018

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow
A long drive to the airport through dust storms and high winds
A long drive through winter weather in Minnesota
The first trip since Mom’s funeral
Lots of emotions washed over me
We stopped by to see a fresh blanket of snow
Covering her grave like a beautiful quilt
I thought about you a lot this weekend, Mom
The Grief Workshop was a blessing
The first time home without hearing your voice
The first time home without a hug
Yet in the beauty of your resting place
I heard your voice and felt your hug
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted
Even as we walk through the Valley of the Shadows
Lord, hear this prayer we lift to you
Dona Nobis Pacem
Grant Us Peace
A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…
