The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow

Saying farewell and celebrating the life of a dear friend

Lord, thank you for walking with us through the Valley of the Shadows

Lord, thank you as well for dear friends who are family

For your grace, mercy, and love

Tomorrow we remember the prayer of Mary

Her soul proclaims your greatness

She challenges us to fight on behalf of the oppressed

She challenges us to stand in the gap

She challenges us to be better than the greedy empire

May we have the strength and faith of Mary

May we stand up on behalf of the oppressed

Lord, give us the strength to witness to your justice

Lord, make us instruments of your peace

In your mercy, hear this prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem

Grant Us Peace
