Evening Prayer – 5 November 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

Worship this morning in the church I grew up in

Many familiar faces and lovely conversations 

Such support and love from so many

When you walk through difficult challenges

To be with friends and companions is a blessing

It’s a reminder that we are never truly alone

As we prepare for another week of challenges

As we mourn yet another senseless massacre

As politicians deploy empty platitudes 

As so-called christians say “we will pray” yet do nothing

As the call rises up for real and substantive change

Lord, in your mercy, hear this prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace 

A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…
