Evening Prayer – 19 October 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

What a difference a day makes

An afternoon wedding with a dear couple

For very dear and precious friends

Those who reach out to an “old” friends

For those who walk the journey of life with you 

For those who walk as a team through the Valley of the Shadows together with strangers and friends

For those who hold the light aloft as a guide, a beacon, a friend

For the opportunity to celebrate the incredible advocacy work in our community 

For those tireless professionals (paid and volunteers) who answer the late night calls

For the opportunity to be a part of something larger than yourself

For the opportunity to make and to be the difference 

For all these gifts we give you thanks

For those who watch and wait and weep this night

For those who hold the light aloft in the darkness

For all of these, we lift this humble prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
