Evening Prayer – 3 October 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

It has been a day, Lord

Yet another funeral being planned

Yet in the midst of it all, a gentle reminder 

You are with us, Lord, through it all

As we walk with so many through the Valley of the Shadows 

As we think of those whose lives have been forever altered

As I look at politicians who just don’t get it

Those who think only of careerism

Those who think only of their wealth

Those who think only of their power

Lord, wake them up to their responsibilities 

To the people of the state/nation/world 

Lord, in your mercy, for the ones who suffer

Hear this humble prayer 

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
