Evening Prayer – 27 August 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

As you hung upon the cross, Lord

The words from Psalm 22 came from deep within

Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani

My God, My God, why have you forsaken me

While there has been much about this day that is a blessing

New hope and new ministry opportunities for friends

Continued connections as we walk through the Valley of the Shadows 

Some folks whom I walk with cry out

The despair of a mother praying for a wounded child

Those who are seeking to share the love, justice, and mercy of God 

Whilst surrounded by hatred and fear

Your children cry out to you, O God

They seek to shine the light in the darkness

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

A prayer for those who struggle

A prayer for those seeking your way

A prayer for those who seek to share your Good News

Dona Nobis Pacem 

Grant Us Peace
