Evening Prayer – 1 July 2017

The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow 

A day of exploring new places

A time of reflection and study

A wonderful evening with very dear friends

Now safely at home

Yet thinking about the homeless man on the side of the highway

We pulled over and I went to him

He was okay, just sleeping on the side of the road

His dog, friendly and caring

No help was needed yet so much is needed

Laying in our comfortable bed I think of them

May they find shelter and peace for the night

For them and for so many others, I lift this prayer

Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra

Grant Us Peace on Earth
