Evening Prayer – 3 June 2017
The sun has set and the Vesper Lights flicker and glow
A whimsical statue celebrates music
Something that connects generations
A much needed reminder as the world reels
I think of London and many happy memories
I think of the terror unleashed in a place
Where music and art and life are celebrated
So many places around this world, Lord
Where your children suffer and die
Somehow, may the music of the soul
The music that draws children together
Let that music sing loudly over the hate
May the wind of your Spirit blow
A spirit of love
A spirit of reconciliation
A spirit of unity
A spirit expressed in the gift of music
A spirit, Lord, of peace
Dona Nobis Pacem et in Terra
Grant Us Peace on Earth
A wee prayer from the heart of your Padre…

Beautiful words, Michael. Just what we need in the aftermath of further acts of aggression, terrorism and hate. Thank you, dear Brother, for your kind and caring heart. ❤
